Sozo is one of my favorite words. It’s Biblical Greek and means, among other things, to make whole, heal, and restore to health. It’s what Jesus says to the woman with the issue of blood, “Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith has made thee sozo; go in peace.” (Luke 8:48) When I reflect on women who minister my heart hurts for those who continue to minister and pour out to others and often neglect themselves. We serve and continue to serve though overworked, stretched, sometimes under-appreciated, and many times struggling with our own “issues.” But who ministers to those who are ministering? My prayer is that all of us – we women who minister – will take the time to be on the receiving end of ministry, so that we can be poured into and equipped, so that we can be made sozo.
